Locks, Mud, and Mindfulness 🌷
Springing into Nature
Can you believe it’s May already? This year is absolutely flying by, but the arrival of spring and the joy of the birds singing in the trees, is finally here to help us slow down, breathe and catch even more glimmers (which if your new to glimmers or would like a reminder you can read about them here:
Trading the digital noise for everyday magic:
The world has felt heavy lately. Between the news and social media, it’s easy for us—and especially our teens—to feel bombarded by “noise.” When that overwhelm kicks in, it can be hard to feel grounded.
If you get a chance this week, we really encourage you to get yourself and your family outside to soak it all in - your mind and body will thank you.
Pressing Buttons at the Tees Barrage ⚓
Recently, Laura and I spent some time with the Canal and River Trust at the Tees Barrage which is a major structure that prevents flooding and controls tidal flow, also the riverside creates a lovely leisure waterway. It was a massive “glimmer”—one of those small, unexpected moments that sparks genuine joy (Laura also got plenty of joy laughing at my reaction). Keep an eye out for our trail launching there soon; it’s going to be a must-visit.

Managing the “Meltdown” 🌪️
We know that while the sunshine is lovely, seasonal transitions can bring big emotions. If you’re dealing with a “meltdown” moment at home, remember that getting outside—even for five minutes—can be a total circuit breaker. Whether it’s the fresh air or the sensory shift, nature is often the best co-regulator for both us and our children. Laura shares some coaching tips that helped her and her youngest recently here:
Laces, Lessons, and Letting Go
If you’ve ever been ten minutes late for school while your child has a “morning meltdown” over their shoes, you’ll know the internal battle.
